Shoppers are attracted both to the traditional outdoor market comprising of 140 stalls which operate seven days each week, and to our indoor Market Hall which is open everyday except Sunday.
ASHTON’S HISTORIC OUTDOOR MARKET:
Offers a fine selection of goods at fabulous prices on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
On Tuesdays we hold a huge ‘Flea Market’ with bargains available on every stall.
On Sundays we offer a giant ‘Table Top’ sale with unbelievable prices for thousands of items.
On the last Sunday of every month we hold the largest monthly FARMERS AND PRODUCERS MARKET in the north west, where everything offered for sale has either been grown or made by the people selling it !

In the newly refurbished Victorian Market Hall, you will find a fascinating range of fresh food, including butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers, cooked meat specialists, dairy products, bakery products, sweets, cakes and biscuits galore to make it easy for you to complete your food shopping in one spot
Some traders are the second and third generation on their stalls in Ashton. Gleaves’, for example, have been selling biscuits, cakes, sweets, confectionary and chocolates for longer than most people can remember.
But, the market hall isn’t just about food – oh no! All manner of products are on offer. Musical items from instruments and accessories to sheet music, clothing and footwear of all types, men’s and ladies’ fashion, greetings cards, fancy goods and gifts, sportswear and equipment, CD’s, video tapes and computer games, hardware and household goods, jewellery and watches, furniture, bedding, curtains and soft furnishings, the list goes on and on. We even cater for your pet’s needs. With over 100 stalls you’re bound to find what you’re looking for. A cash machine is available to top up your purse for even more shopping.

Then there’s the market ground, with over 160 stalls, including a further range of fruit & vegetables and fish. The range of goods would take a page or more to list and the atmosphere is electric.
There are also several kiosks offering food to take away. Or, if the weather is good, sit and have your snack while watching the crowds go by.
Every Tuesday, the market is host to the biggest weekday Flea Market in the region. Be prepared for crowds it’s always very busy.
Find something collectable or just grab a range of extra value prices. Its retail re-cycling. The sale of new consumable goods is also allowed, making for a very diverse and interesting choice.
